Chart interpretation
how to make a quick character assesment from a chart
This is my personal birth chart. Space does not permit a full analysis, so I will concentrate on the three major issues that an astrologer would probably notice at first glance of my chart. They are Uranus conjunct with the descendant, Moon conjunct the IC (foundation point), and an 8th house stellium. Let us start with Uranus. Although the planet is just on the 6th house side of the descendant, it is so close that the effects on primary relationships will be very profound. This is one reason why I exhibit strong Aquarian tendencies in how I come over to others (Aquarius is ruled by Uranus). Although my ascendant is Capricorn, I nevertheless show these more original Aquarian traits than the more staid Capricorn ones - especially when in the company of like minded people. Being on the descendant end of this axis, it often takes other people to fully bring these characteristics out from hiding. If Uranus were on the ascendant, I would be outwardly showing these signs of individualism all the time. Look on the aspect matrix and you will see a very strong square between Saturn (Capricorn) and Uranus, further stating that I find it difficult to be different, as I would truly desire to be. Instead, I often settle for the tried and tested conservative image - more in tune with my Capricorn ascendant. Also note that Aquarius is situated in the 1st house - the house of self projection - the whole sign is intercepted in this house, flanked by Capricorn one side of it, and Pisces the next. A sign fully intercepted like this in the 1st house is bound to reveal itself - especially with the sign's ruler on the other end of this axis. Yet another pointer towards me being very Aquarian is the Sun itself - although in Sagittarius, it is in the 11th house, the house ruled by Uranus and Aquarius. So my true self will want to take on these Aquarian attributes. All in all, I am at odds to fully develop my Aquarian ideals, as much as I would like to, and to put the nail in the coffin, Saturn is my ruling planet: whichever planet rules the sign on the ascendant becomes chart ruler. Saturn and Uranus are exact opposites: Saturn standing for all that is traditional, conformist, boring - Uranus being exciting, independent, unusual, eccentric, and disruptive. As a final insult, the strongest aspect in my chart is Saturn square the Ascendant - were it not for all the Sagittarius and Aquarius influence in me, I would indeed be a dull, orthodox person (I was as a boy!)
