2010 – A YEAR TO FORGET?
Surely by now it must have become apparent to you that almost everyone you meet over the last few months has been – to put it bluntly – rather ****ed off to say the least. Some very noticeably so. So many people have been emailing me and texting me asking me what’s going on in the heavens that it has at long last prompted me to start a current activity type blog on my website, keeping you up to date with what’s happening in the wonderful world of astrology. This current planetary negativity is such a profound event that I wish to mention it in a bit more detail before it goes away. Yes, it is moving on…. but not just yet. It is currently at its peak and will stay with us for some weeks yet, before finally waning and eventually disappearing altogether around the 12th September. Heaven knows just what it will leave in its wake with the disruption it will have caused to people’s lives. That of course is where a direct link of this planetary turmoil to your individual birth chart shows just how it has, or still will, affect you personally.
What we have here folks is a rather nasty piece of work called a t-square, operating between the three planets that make the most impact on us: Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. Since mid March these three have been lodged together in a formidable three-pointed attack on us lot down here! Saturn and Uranus are exact opposites in what they represent, and they have been exactly that – in opposition, forming the backbone of the t-square in what resembles a nasty looking triangle in an astrological chart (depending on the aspect colour scheme one uses, of course. I use RED to make it obvious this is not pleasant. A t-square is a configuration of three individual planetary connections (transits) that together form this ‘super transit’ if you like – a classic case of “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts". A major collection of combined planetary negativity.
Saturn represents convention, procedure, responsibility. It is also regarded as the major restrictive force in astrology, which is why everyone hates it! Uranus is the exact opposite: unconventional, eccentric, disruptive, unpredictable and causing things – good or bad – to happen out of the blue when you least expect them. So to have those two in opposition wreaks all sorts of unsettling events upon us, especially involving technology, which Uranus homes in on. Both these planets then latch on to Pluto, who because mathematically is on the apex of this triangulation (receiving all the bad vibes) he takes the brunt of it. And to put it in simple terms, he is the master of transformation, so he is being prevented from doing what he does best. So we are not moving on, we are seemingly trapped in our endeavours. And the other side to Pluto’s coin is destruction. If it can’t reinvent, it will destroy. It all starts to paint a pretty harrowing picture, doesn’t it? And as I said earlier, it will depend mainly on how these planets individually affect your own birth chart, as to how it will manifest with you. I, for example, have a battle going on in my natal chart between Saturn and Uranus, so this part of the equation is very much brought into the spotlight.
From early June, Jupiter entered the fray. Now this is where it gets really interesting, for Jupiter is regarded as the great benefactor, everyone’s favourite planet, seemingly. Jupiter expands upon whatever it touches, making things prosper and adding great positivity and joy – but it does exactly the same thing when it latches on to negative energies, exaggerating the principle even more. From early June Jupiter moved into conjunction with Uranus, so it was the unexpected unorthodox and rebellious anti-authority type of stuff (and technological problems, of course) that was given the Jupiter expansion treatment. God help us all!!!
There’s more to come! By the 29th July, Mars gets involved too, forming a conjunction with Saturn. Thankfully this is only for a few days, for Mars is the planet of war!!! A very interesting time ahead then, watch out for quarrels and other forms of aggression. And Mars-Saturn is a classic case of one step forward, five back. Be patient, folks.
Not wanting to wish away the summer, but in this respect mid September can’t come soon enough, so we can get back to some sort of normality. Contact me if you want to know individual details of this major planetary theme and how it directly relates to your birth chart.
