Quite simply the planet of good luck and optimism. This can however turn to exaggeration if overindulgence occurs. The most benevolent of all the planets, Jupiter seeks wisdom and knowledge and intensifies one's beliefs. It usually carries a very positive energy which instils faith and optimism.

Saturn, contrarily, is seen as mainly negative due to its highly restrictive tendencies. It causes fears and setbacks but is however the teacher of the Zodiac. It puts things in your way to force you to learn by your mistakes, and when it is working for you, not against you, makes your efforts very determined, serious, disciplined and responsible. It can make a person overly serious and inhibited.
Uranus is the exact opposite of Saturn. This planet brings about the urge to be free of convention and be independent, even different from the norm. Uranus acts quickly and out of the blue so can bring about shocks, but these are not necessarily bad things. It is the planet of eccentricity and disruption but is nevertheless electric in its excitement when positve. Expect the unexpected!
Neptune tends to diffuse situations, for good or bad. It can cause illusion, even deceit, casting a fog over situations, making things unclear. It brings about idealism, unrealism, as well as confusing things. It is the mystical planet, associated with dreams and fantasies but is also responsible for intuition and psychic awareness. It bestows compassion on people but in addition one has to often make sacrifices in the areas it operates in.
Pluto is arguably the most powerful of the planetary energies, depending on how it affects one's chart. Coupled with Mars, it is extremely powerful, enhancing the Martian control of our drives. In fact, control is a typically Plutonian aspect. Pluto sets out to transform and/or control people or situations, and is connected with the syndrome of new coming from old: death and rebirth - transformation. Obsessions, compulsions and paranoia are associated with this planet, as are any subjects considered 'taboo.' It also has a secretive, behind the scenes tendency.
