There are three key factors of analysing a birth chart:

> The Zodiac Signs - these are represented by the coloured band around the outside of the chart wheel.

> Planets (including Sun and Moon)

> Houses - these are the 12 numbered sections inside the wheel.

It is a subtle combination of these factors that give us the picture of the person’s main character. It won't be long before you begin to see the correlation between these three factors - for example the SIGN of SCORPIO relates to the 8th HOUSE and is ruled by the planet PLUTO. Likewise, the SIGN of SAGITTARIUS relates to the 9th HOUSE and is ruled by the planet JUPITER. Using Scorpio as an example, when you read up the sign's characteristics, you will realise that the reference to passion and the ability to transform the self following a trauma, are key attributes to the 8th house, and that Pluto is responsible for these factors. So the three areas readily inter link. A person can come over strongly Scorpio by having a gathering of planets in the 8th house yet have no planets in the actual sign. And so on.
