As with any subject, there is a wealth of information that needs to be digested before you will begin to understand astrology and how it works. The 'star sign' that we are all familiar with is merely the beginning, and by itself tells us very little indeed about the person. In fact it is the emphasis on 'star signs' in newspaper horoscopes and the like that gives astrology its sceptical image. The star sign is in fact the sign that THE SUN was in at the time of your birth. Although important, it is only the tip of the iceberg and the rest of the chart needs taking into consideration to obtain the full picture. The signs and houses occupied by the Moon and planets, and how they all interact with each other via their aspects give us this picture.
This section of the site takes you through the basics of astrology, utilising the presentation I use for talks on astrology. As you become more familiar with the various influences, a picture will slowly emerge: it is like adding colour to a black and white image, and you will soon be able to see why you (or the person you are looking into) reacts the way they do. The ASTROLOGY IN ACTION pages will give you an idea of how this works in reality, and once you have grasped the astrological basics and understand how a given planet reacts with another one, and how it operates differently from sign to sign, house to house, etc., you will be well on your way to truly finding benefit from self help astrology. It is a slow process for a newcomer but you will be surprised how certain things click into place and the whole process becomes like the fitting together of a jigsaw.
